Don't Mess With A Hot and Sweaty Pregnant Chick...sorry if that grosses you out...Wait 'til you hear THIS story...

The background of the story is that our thermostat was set on a permanent hold at 70 degrees. Never heard of this...not sure why. For the past few days, it has bothered me a little b/c I've wanted to turn the air down when it wouldn't click on. Well, if the temperature inside the house does not go below 70, the air is not going to click on. Not a problem for your average person I guess. For a 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant chick...HUGE PROBLEM. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I called the service # on the thermostat and told them my story. The lady on the phone proceeds to tell me that the permanent hold is set by the manufacturer and it cannot be changed.

I said...so you mean to tell me that I can't turn my air below 70...EVER? And she said...yes ma'am. I went on to tell her that I didn't understand...I should be able to control my air...if I want it below 70, I should be able to make that happen. She said...I'm sorry ma'am...it's set by the manufacturer. Would you like someone to come look at your system? I said...no ma'am...the unit is not broken, it's running fine...it's just that I can't turn it below 70 and that's a HUGE problem. I said...I've never had an AC unit that would not let me set my own temperature. She says...I'm sorry ma'am.

Getting hotter by the minute...I got a little frustrated....I said, Okay the problem is that I am 9 months pregnant and sweating inside my own house. I NEED to be able to turn the AC down! (I did not yell but was quite forceful)...I guess that was the magic ticket...she then--right away---tells me EXACTLY how to override the hold and change my permanent hold on the thermostat (Yes, I changed it to 64). ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? SO IT WAS ALL A LIE??????

So the moral of the story is...DON'T MESS WITH A HOT PREGNANT CHICK (especially when it comes to her AC)....I guess that's what she decided for herself. Geez. Glad that's over with.

*****Water leak update*****
The plumber came yesterday to investigate what we feared to be a much bigger problem than it was...as we were putting a bookshelf in the baby's room we noticed a small ring on the wall in the corner. Kyle bent down and noticed that it was damp...UH-OH! We called our builder, and he sent the plumber out. He cut a couple of holes in the wall and found the problem...the hose to one of the jets in the tub in our bathroom (adjacent to the baby's room) was cracked. THANK GOODNESS THAT WAS THE PROBLEM because we've only run those jets a few times (during inspection and maybe one other time to clean them out.) So there was no major damage. The builder was knocking on my door three minutes after the plumber left to look at the holes in the wall. He's sending the tub manufacturer (as well as the person to repair the wall where the holes were cut) on Monday. I'm so glad this was all it was because I need to finish in the baby's room!

Anyway, so I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Love y'all!

I had to laugh at this one...it sounds like the woman on the phone was probably pregnant during a summer month, if that was all it took for her to give you a solution! : ) Fortunately, you will have Baby Silvio before July/August heat rolls around, or you might would have to re-set that override temp to something below 64! : )
