I said earlier this week that I was feeling a little homesick, but God allowed me to feel the joy through my sadness. This weekend was just what I needed, and I know it came from none other than Him! Laura Beth came into town Saturday morning, and we have had such a great time! We got to see our good friends Mike and Lori and the Smart family on Saturday night, and we spent the day today relaxing in the sun and shopping. Our cousin Ryan came to stay with us last night as well, so we have had a weekend full of family and friends which was just what we needed!
I know you're probably wondering how we spent our first Father's Day...well, if I'm being honest, Kyle cooked breakfast for us all! Haha. I felt terrible when I woke up to the smell of bacon and muffins and realized that Kyle was in the kitchen cooking away. That is what is so wonderful about him, and I believe one quality (among many) that makes him an amazing father. The pure and simple joy of being a father this Father's Day was all he needed. And can I tell you he is one Father that is on cloud nine...he LOVES being a dad.
I have always known that Kyle would be a wonderful dad. Watching him with Jackson these past three weeks has made my heart so full. I could go on and on, but I won't.
Hmmm...should I tell you Happy Father's Day, Dad, since you are no longer "Dad", but 100% POPPY? You said it yourself...:)
Happy Father's Day to Poppy, PawPaw Denny, and Kyle! And all the other Dads out there. There is a lot to be said for a great Dad!
