Just in case any of you moms are curious about Step 2 Formula (referred to as something different with each formula brand...Nestle calls it Good Start 2; Enfamil's is Next Step). I called my pediatrician's nurses to ask when I should start Good Start 2 since Jackson takes GS. The can says "for older babies ages 9-24 months", but I thought that since he already weighs about 22 lbs he might need the extra nutrients.
Anyway, the nurse called back and said, "We want him to have REAL formula until he's over a year. Even though the can claims that babies over 9 months can take it, we prefer for him to have all the nutrients found in real formula for at least a year." I didn't ask questions because I was about to check out at WalMart. She did say that some people use that formula to transition from REAL formula (as she kept calling it) to whole milk at 1. Anyway, the moral of the story is...I won't be switching to anything until he's over a year. Just thought I'd pass that along in case anyone else was confused like I was. I thought the Next versions of formula contained MORE nutrients, but they actually contain less.
Anyway, I hope this made sense.
