Saturday's rain was super nice because it forced us to get some things done inside (like turning the bonus room into a play room--thank you, Jesus, for a closed off space in my house where Jackson can play--& video chatting with Uncle Keith and Aunt Kayla) , but once it cleared out we were all stir crazy!
Anyway, we threw on our rain coats and headed down to the Rice game to see Ryan play. We had so much fun! Jackson even got to enjoy his first baseball nachos (licking the cheese off of the chips.) It was also great to visit with Uncle Max. Kyle told me that Jackson really enjoyed the Rice football game they went to a while back, and I was somewhat skeptical of him saying that he watched the game; however, he really DID pay attention--for the most part--and seemed to love it. He did get a little "vocal" about his wishes to go up and down the wet, concrete steps toward the end of the game. We became "those parents" who let their child crawl around and get soaking wet with no shoes on. (Paw Paw Silvio, I hope you're not reading this.) We, with Uncle Max's help, made this executive parenting decision due to the very low crowd and lack of noise (other than our child expressing his wishes.) It sure wore him out. He enjoyed clapping when everyone clapped and watching people moving about on the field. He also enjoyed us cramming his mouth with Puffs to keep him happy. Yes, I know this is not going to form good habits. Yes, we are already having to discipline. Yes, that's a whole different Blog. It's on the list of ones to write.
Go OWLS!!!
PS - I have some other great pics from tonight and life over the past month, but I think I've decided they will all come in one big post for J's 11th month...if I can find the time to sit down and write it. ;) I used to write blogs during J's naps, but lately I've been napping while he does because we play so hard when he's awake.

You won't be "that parent" alone!
