My Chatty Son

I'm always hesitant to post some of the fun things Jackson does because I don't want to seem like I'm bragging. However, I sorta kinda created this Blog for family/friends back home who don't get to see our sweet Jackson often. I told you how he was a little stinker at some points last week, so he's due for some good things to be said about him.

So excuse me while I brag a little. ;) Hehe.

When I picked him up from MDO today, they told me that he's been saying "Up" and holding up his arms when he wants up. *Picture me gushing with pride and smiling from ear to ear.* It's the little things. I thought...wow...J's been telling us all sorts of things lately.

Baby Signs for the following words: (We have been working on Baby Signs since he was 7 months old, and he's just now starting to do some of them. Yay!)
"All done"
"Hot"
"Fish"
"Dog"
"Up"
"Eat"

Spoken Words:
Ball (Ba-ul)
Tiger (Dih-duh)
Uh-oh
Dog (Duh)
Up
Dada (Dad)
Daddy - This boy looooooooooves his "Dadeh"!)
Mama (Yes, he knows my name finally and is not afraid to use it! He didn't say it the way I always imagined...him looking to my eyes and saying in a sweet voice "mama"...but out of desparation and with tears pouring from his eyes. haha.)

Now, he does not use these everyday and usually doesn't do "on demand" performances, but you never know what he'll do for a Puff or a Gerber cereal bar.

We have little conversations in the car that go something like this:

Jackson: "Uh-oh"
Mama: "Uh-oh. What happened?"
Jackson: "Uh uh uh oh."
Mama: "Uh uh uh oh."
Jackson: "Uh-oh."
Mama: "What happened, Jackson?"
Jackskon: "Uh-oh."

Sounds boring to you, but I love talking with my boy. It's fun for him to finally be saying something when we're riding in the car. Soon I'll get to look in the rear view mirror and see his little face when he's forward facing. I can't wait for that!

It's so fun to see his little personality coming out even more. He is a very determined little fella. So into figuring out how everything works. A true boy.

Yesterday, we had the playground in our neighborhood park all to ourselves and boy did we have fun. We had a great trip to Baton Rouge, but it's good to be home and back in our routine. Being away from home definitely takes its toll on a kid, but it's crazy how quickly they rebound. We can't wait for our next trip!

Well, I need to make use of this nap time, so I better go. I'll post Easter pics and others that are long overdue later. Or sometime this week.

Jackson is one smart boy! I laughed out loud when you described how J says your name...Latham did the exact same thing...so much so that I would gloat when he would request me over Nick when he wasn't hurt or crying. :)

What a smart chappy you have! Fast at movement, fast at speech. What more?

We are working on word recognition with D, but so far, no such luck. Hopefully in the next month or two...
