**Update! So we have decided to use this color!!! We bought the paint this weekend while we were in Dallas. We're going to do the whole living area (including the entryway and back foyer thingy) in this color. Haven't decided on colors for the dining room and study yet, but we are taking one step at a time. Thanks for your comments and help. I'll definitely post pictures when the paint job is complete. I keep picturing it in my head, and I'm SO excited! Haha.**
Dear Kyle,

OK, Blog reader friends!!! I need your help!!! Most of you know about my ongoing paint saga. You also most likely tune me out when I start talking about paint colors. Especially Jaime. And I couldn't understand more. But PLEASE listen this time. Sherwin Williams has their paints 25% off this weekend for "preferred customers." I am certainly a "preferred customer." I mean, who wouldn't want a customer who is never satisfied with her paint colors? Surely she'll waste lots of money trying to further prove the definition of insanity (doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.)I'm trying to BREAK the cycle. But I need YOUR help! I have been on the hunt for a color that is dark enough to make my stone colored couches pop against, but also one that I can live with everyday. Golds are a "no-go" in my house because they clash with the color of our stone, etc. However, this is a brown that seems to have a hint of gold in it and for some reason I don't mind. For those of you who've been in my house, this color is one shade darker on the paint chip than the color I currently have in my kitchen, which FYI is "latte" from Sherwin Williams. I am happy with that color. The color in question is "hopsack" also from SW. If I choose it, it will potentially be the color for my living area and back foyer, possibly even the entryway. I'm considering doing the entryway in the lighter shade, "latte."
Before I go any further and beg Kyle to once again let me paint, I want to get it right. I've learned my lesson. NO picking paint colors while I'm pregnant (and I'm not.)
So, PLEASE, give me your HONEST opinion!!! I painted one side of the island and attached a picture of that wall + a picture of the love seat cushion up against it to show you the contrast. Now, this wall is facing my kitchen where there it is not as open and lit as the living area. But you can sort of get the idea.
Dear Kyle,
If you went against my wishes and read this Blog anyway, please don't comment. ;)

I am praying that the pictures in this blog were done with PhotoShop b/c I can't even imagine that there would be painting going on at home without prior knowledge. For the record, I think the colors in this "fake" picture look pretty good. Too bad you'll be changing your mind again next week. However, the Painters Association in Houston thanks you for your support of their industry.
P.S. The jambalaya was really good and please pickup my clothes. Love you.
HA HA Kyle! Lindz, I really like it! I think its a great color choice. I am going to be joining you in the paint saga soon I hope bc I really want to paint our guest bathroom!
I was cracking up reading this post. I like the color and think you should go for it. You and Kyle are too much! :)
I think it looks great and the couch color does "pop." I am curious about painting the bar though. Are you planning on repainting? Why the bar? Why not part of the LR?
PS what a gentle way to break it to your husband!
I think the color does look really well, but I will give a better opinion when I see it in person! Good job...hope Kyle truly likes the paint job! :)
Thanks for the comments, y'all. And y'all are cracking me up. Don't take Kyle and I too seriously...I wouldn't do anything major without involving him in the process. Haha. Margaret - good question. I guess it did seem a little odd. The bar is actually part of the living room walls, and I just thought it would be an easy section to paint to see if I even liked the color before testing it in the living room. I guess I'll try that next. But on that one I'll wait til Kyle's around. :) I really like the color even more now that it dried. I don't think it looks quite as "olivey" in real life as it does on here.
Love it! Go for it!
Lindsay, you crack me up! I love the way you write! Also, I love the color. It looks great next to your barstool and couch color.
We have both of those exact colors in our house! We used Hopsack in the kitchen and downstairs bathroom, and then Latte in the living room, and will one day continue it up the stairs. We love it!
Lindsay,
Your house is so beautiful just as it is now! No need to paint again. Come help me pick out paint colors for our house. I just got some samples today.
Aw Courtney you're too sweet. I'd love to help you! Although given my track record you may not want me to! Haha! How is your fam feeling?
