Pool Days are Cool Days

**Edit: Check out this link for fun things to do in Houston with kids as well as a list of places where kids eat FREE!!! It is a great list, and it is broken up into the following categories: I. Kids Eat Free (NW side of town); II. Other Great Restaurants (not free, but kid friendly); III. Indoor Play; IV. Outdoor Play; V. Volunteering for Kids and Teens; VI. Great Links for Resources and Events.

I interrupt my game of Blogging catch-up to tell you about some fun days we've had recently at our neighborhood pool! Ever since the day I told you that we went to the pool and I prayed for Jackson to do well, he has done GREAT! I'm so proud of him! (I'm also proud of
me for having the courage to keep going back!) We've actually gone two days this week.

Jackson absolutely loves spending time at the pool, mainly because of the fun play structure. He loves playing with the steering wheels that are all over it, and he even braved the tunnel today. The slide is BY FAR his favorite, though. I guess we went down it 6 or 7 times today. As soon as he landed, he was dying to go again. Jackson is not, however, a fan of the mushroom. Won't go anywhere near it! Probably because I traumatized him by taking him under the waterfall one time and he got splashed pretty good in the face. Ha!

I will be so sad when these summer days are over, but at least they will be replaced with cool(er) fall weather. I'm excited about walks where we don't get sweaty before we leave the drive way, playing in the leaves at the park, going to the Drive-In movie theater in Tomball, LSU FOOTBALL, the PUMPKIN PATCH (can't wait!), etc., etc., etc.

We have at least one good month of the pool being open during the week, and I plan to go back as much as we can!

**Swim Diaper Tip: I found out the other day (Thanks, Margaret!) that you can reuse swim diapers. Just rinse them out and let them dry, and they can be used over and over again. Just don't tear them when you take them off of your baby.

I Found this out today, when I opened my dryer there was a little swimmer that looked like it had never been worn or through the washing maching and dryer. Those things last!

Oh that's great to know about swim diapers! Sounds like yall are having a lot of fun. By the way, your pool is way cooler than ours. We don't have play structures! Ha.
