Very Lazy Monday

Our lazy Sunday turned into a very lazy Monday, and I have done absolutely nothing but enjoy the company of my little man so far. I do have plans to cook Jambalaya before Kyle gets home. Jacks and I slept in (again) and had a slow morning here at the house before dashing to Wal-Mart to grab a couple things.

Today is one of those days where I'm keenly aware of how quickly time passes and how grateful I am to be spending it soaking in all the little things that make up the personality of one funny little fella named Jackson Kyle.

If I could have one special wish, it would be to bottle up all of these little things...even the mischievous ones...to have forever...

...the way he protests nap time vigorously until I lay him down and close the door and he falls right to sleep...the way he runs to my closet and hides behind a brown jacket hanging on the lower rack and laughs hysterically when I find him...the way he makes this funny little embarrassed smile when someone is paying attention to what he's doing...the proud look on his face when he figures something out...the belly laughs that almost leave him unable to breathe...the songs he sings...the way his face lights up when he hears a dog barking and then proceeds to imitate it...the way he makes shopping trips difficult but also how I can't imagine being alone in the grocery store...the way he says "Hi!" to everyone who passes us or "Bye-bye" to anyone who leaves...the way his little voice sounds...his little run that almost looks like he's bouncing across clouds...the way he goes in my closet and puts on every baseball cap I own at the same time and walks around saying "hat!"...the way he laughs when he knows he's doing something wrong...the way he acts up in a restaurant and then turns on the charm the moment we walk out...the way he says "may-men!" when we get done praying with him...the way he feels when he hugs me with all his strength...the way he smacks his lips and raises his eyebrows when he's falling asleep...the way he looks when he reaches his little arms up for one of us to hold him...the way he runs to me if Kyle tells him to do something and he doesn't want to...and vice versa...the way he makes me want to be a better person...the way he makes us feel so very blessed.

There are so many more things I'd love to hang onto forever! Just thought I'd record a few for the sake of the memories.

Well...the little guy has just started his nap, so off I go to get a few things done so I'm free to play when he's up! :) Yes, one of the few things I plan on doing is reading "Twilight." I'm over half way done!
