At Home in Spring, TX

Well, we made it to our new home yesterday around 4:00. It still seems very surreal. Mitch, LB, Benj, and my dad made the trip over with us, so that made the whole thing MUCH easier for me emotionally. I left Baton Rouge without a tear, which really surprised me. I just kept telling myself all weekend long..."this is not goodbye...I'll see everyone later." I really do feel that although we are 5 hours away, we are not that far. We have some of the greatest family and most wonderful friends anyone could ask for. This past weekend was so much fun because we got to spend time with so many of you, and it was so special.

Moving away from home really makes you think about all the things you take for granted when you live close to everyone you know and love. Sunday lunches after church, spontaneous visits, weekend nights with family and friends...all the small things that fill your heart with so much joy whether you realize it in the moment or not...those are the things we will miss so much. On the other hand, we are SO looking forward to exploring our new "home", finding a church and serving God where He has planned for us, having friends and family come stay with us, etc., etc., etc. And of course--meeting our little one in just 9 weeks!

I have a lot to post about since so much has happened over the past month. I figure I'll do that once Kyle starts work. We have a lot we would like to accomplish this week (his last week off), so I'll probably post some more when he starts his job.

I have no new baby updates other than everything is going really well and we are sooo excited.

Love you all and can't WAIT to see you very soon!

Yeah I think you are only 4 or so hours from me now!!! AND my sister Kristy & her hubbie and baby are headed down to Houston to check out a practice in The Woodlands tomorrow so cross your fingers it works out and I have more excuses to head down there to see both of ya'll! I think Spring is right by The Woodlands? And no worries I've been to La Madeline's in The Woodlands so it is all ready for you!

I'm glad to hear y'all made the move safely. Enjoy these last 2 months of being pregnant! Time will go by so fast, and before you know it, that precious baby boy will be here! It is truly one of life's greatest experiences! Praying that y'all adjust quickly to your new home and city, and that y'all have a great support system/church family/etc. to help you welcome that new blessing!
