Healthy and Handsome (at least we think so!)

I just got back from my 37 week visit with Dr. White!!! God has been protecting our little guy all along, and he is measuring perfectly and appears to be healthy. His heartbeat was 150 bpm, and his estimated fetal weight (as of today) was a whopping 6 lbs. 9 oz (give or take 10-15%). Dr. White thinks he'll weigh about 7.5 lbs. at birth. We are guessing that he will weigh 8 lbs. I think I weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. (right Mom?), and they say that a baby's weight is sometimes close to what his mother weighed at birth, so maybe that will be the case. Whatever he weighs, he will be perfect to us! Kyle thinks he will be born on May 31 (3 days after my due date)---WHATEVER. I'm still reserving the right to naively believe he will come early or on time. =) Just kidding, but if he is born on May 31, he will share a birthday with our cousin Megan!

Dr. White said that I am 50% effaced, which refers to the thinning of the cervix. No dilation yet, but progress is progress! He asked me how I was feeling, and I said..."Great, just HOT." Then he said, "Oh you must be having a hot flash"...to which I responded..."My life right now is one big hot flash." I am not kidding. I freeze poor Kyle out right now. Granny told him that if he can make it with me the next 3 weeks, he will be a Saint. I wouldn't go that far, Gran, but he is something special for putting up with my need for the air to be on 69 at all times. I also spoke too soon about "sleeping amazingly well blah blah blah..." Haha I guess those days are gone. Last night I slept until midnight and was wide awake from then on STARING AT THE CLOCK. The baby wasn't kicking and I wasn't uncomfortable; I just COULD NOT SLEEP. I guess I'm excited, I don't know. I also think it's God preparing me for being up at night with the baby. I feel fine today, so I guess as long as I'm not miserable the next day, who needs sleep? At least when the baby gets here I won't be awake all by myself! =)

Anyway, I'm sure I have rambled enough. Kyle and I have our work cut out for us tonight to get ready for the painters to come in the morning. We have to move all the furniture away from the walls, so that will be our exciting night. I'll post pictures of the house later this week when it's all painted!!
