Home Sweet Home!

On Sunday, May 25, we were able to leave the hospital and take our little man to his very first home! We were so excited to leave the hospital and head for our own bed and of course to see our family who was there waiting for us!

Keith, Kayla, and Kevin came by that morning before Keith and Kayla headed back to Baton Rouge. We were able to get a few pics of all of us Silvio kids.
Before we left the hospital, my nurse came in to go over discharge information with me. She talked mostly about my emotions (which I didn't care to listen to at the time but boy was she right about the emotions I would feel once I got home...I was not prepared!), and the whole time I kept thinking, tell us how to take care of this baby! haha. Later Jackson's nurse came in and went over a few things with us. The main thing we wanted to know was how to swaddle. I know, I know, it should be simple, but we actually STILL don't know how to do it right. Maybe with the next baby! Anyway, we were finally told that we could go. Here are a few pics of us before we left and of little Jackson in his "going home" outfit that Kyle despised! :)

Jackson hated the idea of that little outift just as much as Kyle did. He was NOT impressed!

First car seat ride - looks like he liked it!
Home at last!
When we got home, our family was standing in the driveway jumping up and down (Em...I think the image of you jumping up and down in your bright yellow dress will be what I always remember when I think of us pulling in the driveway that first time...:) ) It was such an exciting moment! We walked in and the house smelled of yummy Mexican food and was all clean and ready for us. We stood around talking and it was just so good to be home.

Later on in the day, PawPaw Denny and Nonnie came by for another visit with Jackson.
Snug as a bug in a rug...our little Sweet Pea!
So that was it...they let us leave the hospital with this precious child, and we started our journey as parents...yikes!

I know EXACTLY what you mean by the "emotions" thing- the first 2-3 weeks after I had Parker, I cried so much and was so emotional, Trent wanted me to go see a doctor for antidepressants. Of course, it was just hormones, but it was funny/horrible nonetheless. It is obvious Jackson is VERY loved and being cared for by AWESOME parents already. We can't wait to meet him when y'all make the brave adventure of the first long-distance car ride! (We didn't do it until Parker was 10 months old- don't wait that long; it's not bad!)

My two favorite pictures are the one of him in his car seat with the mittens on his hand and the last pic of him swaddled up on his boppy.

I am way impressed at your blogging-thanks for letting us in on this fun new journey :)

I am sure you are doing great!--even if you do have to change YOUR clothes from his diaper changes. (I will need some pointers on that)

It also looks to me like you swaddle just fine--I don't know how he could get out of that thing! :)

Good to talk to you briefly the other day...will talk more later.
