Sparkling Apple Cider & Shotguns

Well...I promise Kyle and I have not always been dressed in PJs on New Year's, but the year 2006 was the first year that our good friends did not have their annual New Year's Eve party. Everyone knew that's where we went every single New Year's Eve, so when they didn't have it we really didn't know what to do with ourselves! So we decided to stay home and clean. Lame, I know! That's exactly what Keith and Kayla thought when they busted us around 11:30 PM.

They called wanting to know what we were doing. We were embarrassed to admit we were at home in our PJs. They were just leaving another party and decided to come over. (AHHH how I miss the days of them living right around the CORNER from us and our Supper Club and late night movie watching where Kayla was the only one awake and all other sorts of good times!) Anyway, Kayla had some leftover sparkling apple ciderfrom their wedding, so I took out my goblets (LOL...I don't even have wine glasses) and we poured it up to get the good times flowing.

Keith brought in his new Glock that Kayla had gotten him as a wedding present to show Kyle. Kyle had my Pappy's 1930 revolver and they went out back for a little fun. Anyway, Kayla and I were inside and all the sudden we hear guns firing off in the backyard. We went outside and at that same moment Kyle and Keith were running back inside because they had the thought that maybe you weren't supposed to be firing off guns in your backyard. (Hmmm...I don't know!) We all ran back inside and enjoyed our non-alcoholic New Year's beverages. Some of the pictures from that night are hilarious, but I will post my most favorite...our group pic with the guns and cider. Good, good times.

Maybe one day we'll live around the corner from each other again! =) I sure do hope so.

Happy New Year's, everyone. If you are sitting around in your PJs at 11:30 PM tomorrow night, I'll send Keith and Kayla your way. They always know how to liven things up.

we're pretty lame...we might need some help. Perhaps we can at least be wearing street clothes by midnight :) (or maybe not...)
