A couple of weekends ago (the same weekend that Keith and Kayla came to visit, yay!), we visited the Houston Aquarium and were pleasantly surprised. I had always heard that it wasn't as good as the New Orleans Aquarium; however, it has been so long since I've been there I don't even remember it. I really liked the Houston one. I was fascinated with the fact that it was smack in the middle of downtown. You see all these tropical trees and look up and see skyscrapers. Fun.
We actually tried to go to the zoo that day, but it was waaay too crowded. Then we had the bright idea to go the aquarium because Jackson looooves looking at the fish in the preschool building at church. We stop to look at them every Tuesday before and after Mother's Day Out. Anyway, as we thought, he LOVED the fish at the aquarium. There was enough to see, but not so much that a young child would go wacko. Just when I thought I had seen enough fish, we were done. So, in my opinion, it was perfect!
I will admit, I was somewhat intimidated of the mom walking beside us through part of the exhibit, who was evidently a marine biologist or something. Her son would ask things like, "...and mommy what do those fish eat?" She would reply something like, "Oh, honey, they eat phytoplankton and blah blah blah [insert all sorts of words I don't know]..." Haha. Kyle and I were more like, "Jackson, do you see the BIG fish?" Hahaha.
Here are a few pictures that I snapped during our visit.
Getting ready to leave for the Aquarium...I thought this was a precious picture of my 2 boys

I think Mike is embarrassed when we go places with fish because I always loudly point out the big fish... multiple times!
