Back on Schedule

This is a sight that had become all too familiar...

We saw this, known as "the caged prisoner", many times last week during our nap struggles! I'm happy (and scared) to say that we are back on schedule. Kyle is trying to take credit since it happened over the weekend while he was home. I'm not sure whether it was Daddy's charm or just pure favor from the Good Lord himself, but we're on day 5 of our normal routine again. I really think that his 3 day no napping spell (which seemed MUCH longer than 3 days!) was due to several things: teething, the stress/excitement of all the new skills he is learning, and pure exhaustion.

I have also made an important discovery thanks to my mom (hmmm...after raising 4 kids, she knows a little something about parenting, imagine that...) Since Jackson has reached a new level of awareness concerning his surroundings, I can't just drop him in his bed at the first sign of tiredness and run out. Well, I can, but now he prefers to have a little bear or blanket in his bed with him. I didn't want him to associate play time with bed time, but my mom was like "Are you kidding me? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Give that baby some toys or something so he won't feel all alone!" Haha. Well, I did, and here is the J-man about 3 minutes after I left him in his crib with his little stuffed animal...

Night Night, Doodlebug!!!

Before you know it, Jackson's bed will be filled with stuffed animals. It seems we are always adding a new one to Latham's bed buddies...I think we are up to 6 now and a pillow. Silly Latham, but it does help him sleep better I think.
