Fun Day

Today was Stay at Home Tuesday for Jackson and me. I do like to plan days where we don't go anywhere, but today was not one I would have chosen since I was really anxious to get to the gym and run a few errands...BUT...my keys were locked in my car. Boo! Oh, well. We probably needed a day to do nothing...but have fun, that is! =)

This is besides the point, but I feel good about the meals I've fed J today. That sounds so dorky, but some days I forget to feed him at the right times (don't hear that the wrong way...I always give him his bottles, but sometimes forget to do the solids.) Anyway, the child is clearly not malnourished. Well, now that we have quit formula pretty much cold turkey and gone straight to whole milk, the pressure is ON for me to plan out nutritious meals. I realize I fret over it way more than I probably need to, but that's just me. I like to freak over things. It makes me feel important. ;)

Anyway, back to how I was feeling like a good mom today...We ate breakfast, snack #1, and lunch together. Since I'm doing the Abs Diet (thanks to my friend, Janee, for writing about it in her Blog), I'm really trying to get back to eating 3 meals/3 snacks again, and I figure why not get J on the same sched??? My sis-in-law, Kayla, gave me a good tip she picked up from noting what one of her students brings for his meals (she is a SLP and sees this student at his school around lunch time.) Something he brings often is the frozen Tyson grilled chicken strips (which can be quickly microwaved.) I was super pumped to hear this idea because I'm always looking for things to feed J that are 1. healthy and 2. easy. Anyway, this is so easy, and add to it some Steam Fresh vegetables (that microwave right in the bag), and you have a healthy meal in 5 minutes. I feel myself getting waay off topic and being really random, so please forgive me or just quit reading if it's too much to handle.

What was I talking about? Oh, our fun day. Anyway, so since we were stuck here being all healthy and good with our meal sched, I decided to get out some of J's birthday presents from his Grammy and PawPaw and have a little Fun in the Sun with my little man when he woke up from nap #1.

Splash Pad + Baby Pool +Jackson & Me (oh, and Baby Off and Sunscreen) = FUN!

Anyway, I'll let the pictures do the talking.
We had a lot of fun. I had to "demonstrate" how to run through the sprinklers on the Splash Pad, then he was all about it...but you will notice from the pictures that he really wanted to enjoy the sprinklers from afar. It was so funny. He kept bending over and touching the water, being careful not to get too close. So cute. And then he would try to decide between the pool and the sprinklers and just wasn't sure which one he should choose. Tough decision, little man. Tough decision. He was all about being in the Baby Pool if I was in it with him...and we didn't fit so well together, but we made it work! He just sat there and looked at me as if to say..."You are the best mom ever for sitting in my pool with me." Little does he know I'm selfishly happy to be getting some sun at the same time...but mostly enjoying him. ;)

Kyle is coming to rescue us later and bring us to meet some friends for dinner and then it's off to the BIG GAME!! Kyle's softball team (Big League Chew) is playing our other class team (Wii Not Fit) in the playoffs tonight.

Anyway, I hope your brain has not turned to mush after reading this.

Is there anything cuter than a baby in a diaper? OK, maybe a baby in a diaper playing in the water.
