Paw Paw Silvio, don't read this. It could be hazardous to your health. ;)
My friend Jaime and I are always joking about "Horrible Mom Moments." Well, I'll be honest. Today, I created one...intentionally.
I was SO tired today. I don't know if it was the weather or what, but I KNEW beyond a shadow of a doubt that a nap HAD to happen. There really was no way around it. Well, since Jacks had already taken a nap at MDO, I knew the chances of him going down for a second one were slim to none.
Within seconds of walking in the door (I don't even think I changed clothes), I closed all the doors and checked to make sure there were no hazards for when I feel asleep...yes, I was PLANNING to go to sleep and leave my almost 17 month old unattended. Horrible Mom? Maybe. Sleepy, desperate mom? Yes. Definitely.
Anyway, there were no major hazards that I could see. So, to the couch I went.
Sesame Street. Check.
Blanket. Check.
Nap? Yes, please.
OK so I MUST brag on my little man. He was sooo very sweet and sat there with me and watched Sesame Street. Thank you, Sesame Street, for all the "dogs" and "balls" in this particular episode (two of our favorite things.) I drifted off to the sound of my little man chatting up a storm about them...
I honestly slept. I won't tell you how long because you might turn me in. I NEVER do this. I physically cannot take naps. It's a total character flaw because I just can't wind down enough to do it. I always feel guilty and like I could be doing a thousand other things. Anyway, it was nice. And Jackson just played and stayed right in the living room (to my knowledge--lol.)
And when he had enough of my laziness, he threw a Koosh Ball in my face. Hit me in the nose and woke me up. And Horrible Mom Moment #856 was history.

I was cracking up reading this. I fell asleep yesterday to the sounds of Latham playing "drums" on cookie sheets and mixing bowls. My eyes just wouldn't stay open.
Is that a bad thing? :) I did the same on Saturday since I had to watch D but had the flu and felt miserable!
