My boys and I got to experience a little taste of home last night...literally. We have been meaning to try this little restaurant at the front of our neighborhood for a long time. Shilecci's. My friend April could not believe we had not been there since the chef was an authentic Louisianian. Ha! We had no idea.
It was sooo good! He imports his French Bread from Gambino's in New Orleans, and it was so yummy on my shrimp po boy. Kyle had jambalaya, and Jackson had chicken strips. The chef, Wayne, brought us out some of his Crawfish Chowder to try. It was amazing! Yummm. We will definitely be back!
Wayne was born in New Orleans but moved to Houston when he was young; however, he said his "Mama still taught him right."
If you live in the area, you should give it a try. It's right next to Starbucks at the front of Gleannloch Farms subdivision.
