I can't believe we have been living here for 2 full years. I can honestly say this experience was one of the few times in my life that I had a complete peace about what we were doing but had NO idea what to expect. I can tell you what I did NOT expect...
1. To find new lifelong friends (and keep the old ones)
2. To find a Church Home (that really felt like home)
3. To find a decent bowl of salsa (that could in any way compare to Las Palmas)
4. To feel at home in this big place so far from home
Praise the Lord, He gave us this much and more. Don't you love how salsa is right underneath "Church Home"? Mexican food is always found next to Godliness. At least the way I see it. I know a few people who don't like Mexican food, and all I can say about them is well...Just kidding. There are other ways to be Godly. You just have to work harder. I'm kidding...I'm kidding.
But seriously, as hard as it is to be away from the family and friends we SO DEARLY LOVE in Baton Rouge, we feel very blessed to call this place our home. So far there is no apparent harm done to Jackson as a result of being born and raised in Texas...only time will tell. ;)
It's hard to believe that about this time 2 years ago we were crossing the state line...not to return to Louisiana until we had an extra passenger! I was 32 weeks pregnant, so we decided to stay put and get settled here until Jacks made his arrival. We've crossed the state line many times since then. It's always fun to go home to Baton Rouge. In a place where people are from ALL OVER the country, I'm proud to say I'm from Louisiana. And one of these days we are gonna pack up all our Texas friends and head East on I-10 and show these people what all the fuss is about. ;)

ROAD TRIP!!!!
I am so glad you guys are here!
What a HUGE blessing it was to live near you and have babies just days apart. We love y'all and cherish the memories we made with y'all. And as Shelby (aka Julia) said in Steel Magnolias, "There are still good times to be had." Love y'all.
