It's bed time for a little certain someone with a brand new hair cut. Sigh of relief, the mullet is gone. I promise you I apologized to Jackson's MDO teachers every time I dropped him off over the past two weeks. If I had been the one to drop him off at Sunday School, I would have apologized to those teachers, too. If random strangers out and about had come close enough to me, I probably would have uttered in a soft whisper, "Excuse his mullet." It was that bad. I was just so scared to cut it because the whole length thing was working for him quite well. He just needed a trim in the worst way. I was scared that whoever cut it would butcher it like the last time. Anyway, that saga is over (for now) and the little guy is asleep in his bed.
I decided to deactivate my Facebook account. It was a purely personal decision. I'm not a Facebook hater or anything like that, and I'm not saying I'll never join again. At this point in life, I just don't need any more distractions. When I went to Tampa and didn't miss it for 4 days, I decided there was no better time to deactivate! It's been a week since I've looked at it, and my brain already feels less overloaded with information. Ha!
Tonight Jacks ate a big bowl of stir-fry veggies with jumbo shrimp and brown rice, a Texas size bowl of berries, 2 Go-gurts, and 2 slices of cheese. He kept asking for more of this or that, and I ran to the refrigerator as fast as I could so that I could grant his requests before he had a chance to remember that he doesn't prefer to eat more than bird-size portions. ;) It's true...when they [they meaning finicky toddlers] are hungry, they will eat!
We are traveling fools these days, and I realized just now (looking at my calendar) that between April 10 and June 5 there were/are only three weeks that we were/are scheduled to be in Houston. That's traveling 6 out of 9 weeks--ha! Crazy! Most of the traveling has to do with my brother's wedding; some has to do with vacationing. We would not miss all the wedding festivities for anything in this world! We are so excited to be adding Dustin to our family (officially...she's been a part forever!)
I ate something amazing in Tampa at a restaurant called Ceviche. I didn't even order a whole thing of it because I wasn't very hungry when we were at the restaurant, but I want to have that meal again!!! It was Tuna Ceviche...have y'all had it??? Oh, yum!
Remember my post about Jacks not knowing who that man sleeping on the couch was? (The man sleeping on the couch was Kyle, I promise!) Well, my dad wrote a song about it called "Who's That Man?" Let's just say it's awesome, and if I knew how to add an MP3 file to a blog post, I would. Yes, he recorded it. He's really into songwriting these days.
There are a few perks to being a music minister's daughter. Especially one who has an amazing choir!!! I am totally obsessed with the song "Do It Lord" right now. I first heard it at Bible Study this semester, and Travis Cottrell's praise team sang it at LPL last weekend in Tampa. This song makes me so fired up. Anyway, I called him up and got him all excited about it. The choir started working on it tonight to have ready for May 2 when we will just so happen to be in town. I can't wait to hear them sing it. They are so awesome!
I love the fact that so many new little people have been born to precious friends lately. Seriously, I love this stage of life. I hear they are all good, but I will admit I am enjoying this one in particular at the moment. :)
I forgot to tell y'all that I figured out my hair problem. I have been blaming Jackson for the fact that my hair has been AWFUL for the past two years. HOWEVER...when I was in Baton Rouge over Spring Break, it hit me. My hair was looking really good. It's not poor Jackson's fault; it's this dern Houston water!!!! It's very hateful toward hair. It's harsh. It's mean. It smells like chlorine. I'm starting to wonder if getting one of those crazy expensive systems that purifies all the water coming into your home would be worth it if I could have decent hair back. I will never convince Kyle of that, so I'm going to stop thinking about it. But at least I can quit blaming Jackson for that in addition to lots of other things he may or may not have done to me.
Date night is Friday night, and I am definitely looking forward to some Kyle time. We have not discussed what we're doing, but I'm sure it will involve eating. And due to the Easter Meltdown of 2010 (that's another post entirely), I'm sure he'll offer for it to be Mexican. And I should turn it down because it's really not on the diet. What diet? I have no idea! I keep trying to eat healthy but just don't have the motivation. Food is so good! Ugh!
Well, that's it for now. Apparently instead of taking IN information (via Facebook), deactivating my account has resulted in a spewing OUT of information...something I promise not to do again.
Sorry. Did any of it make a bit of sense?

yes, made sense and fun to read. D is suddenly eating too! What a joy!
Hope we see you guys soon...
Don't you just love when Jackson eats a lot of good foods. I feel like I get a sticker for the day when Carson eats a real healthy meal, considering his favorites are SWEETS! Enjoyed the post.
