Today is our last day of VBS.

Kyle has a half day off.
It's Father's Day weekend.
Let the fun begin!
I wish we could celebrate with both of our Dads, but it will be fun celebrating Kyle all weekend. Dad, I think we will try to squeeze in a Mexican meal in honor of you. I am so thankful for a Dad who raised me up to follow Jesus and is a lot of the reason I was attracted to a guy who would not only be an amazing husband, but a fantastic father to my child(ren)! I am a seriously blessed girl.
Yesterday Jacks took an early nap, so needless to say he was awake by 3. I knew it had potential to be a long afternoon until Kyle got home, so we headed out back for some fun and a summer first for Jackson. This was his first time to experience landing in a pool at the bottom of a slide. Oh yes, it was the best day of his life (so far.) I set his little blow up pool underneath his swing set slide, and he totally embraced the fun that such a pairing is! He went backwards, forwards, on his tummy face first, any which way he could find to go down that slide. He liked jumping off the end of the slide into the pool, too. I wish I had pictures, but I left my camera at church yesterday. He kept saying, "Woo hoo. It's fun!"
When Kyle got home, he barbecued chicken on the grill. Jacks pedaled his tractor around the driveway and "drove" Kyle's truck. It was such a relaxing, fun night. We ate dinner out back and let Jacks play some more in the pool. I can't wait for more nights like this!

Sounds like a great summer evening!
Don't ask me why, but this post made me wish our men got summers off like our boys do. :) Just think of all of the fun we could have then!
