You are soooo silly!!!"Ta-tan" would be how you pronounce your name. I absolutely love hearing you say your name. I secretly hope you never say it the right way. You have been cracking us up lately with all you are saying. You express yourself so well. I will not even try to go through the entire vocabulary list because you are really jabbering away in full sentences. I thought I would write down for memory's sake some of our favorite phrases or sentences you say.
"Hey baby." or "What, baby?" This made the favorites list because you have started saying this to me when I walk in room or when I call your name. You are just saying what I always say to you, but it's hilarious coming from you to me.
"Un some meee-ulk." You can most definitely say "I" and "want", but for some reason when you ask for milk, you say it like this. You are quite the little "drinker" and would have a drink in hand all day long if I would let you. You get lucky at church because your teachers give it to you right away. Sometimes I walk back to your room after having been gone less than a minute (for example if I forgot to leave something), and you already have a cup in hand.
"Sit on mommy's souch." Lately you like to rock with Daddy while I take my bath, and then when I come out, you want us all to sit on the couch together. You call it my couch because that's my place when we all watch TV or just hang out in the living room.
"Rock a minute?" You have started asking this when we put you in bed--most times after you've already been rocked. Daddy doesn't give in, but usually when he walks off, I tiptoe back in your room. I will NEVER turn down a request to rock you. Sorry, I just can't. Time is ticking away.
"Daddy at work...in his suck [truck]?" You ask me this a thousand times a day! Daddy is your hero, and you always want to know where he is.
"Un hold Mommy." You usually want to "hold me" when Daddy won't give you something you want or won't let you do something you want to do. You think I'm the easier parent. I'm really not, but when Daddy is home he tends to take on the role of disciplinarian.
"I'm awake." This is what you've been telling me every morning when I walk in your room. I'm pretty sure this is because I've always walked in an said, "Ahhh! Are you awake sweet boy?!" You say it in the cutest, sleepiest little voice.
"Here comin' Ta-tan!" You love to say this when you ride around in your Cozy Coupe (yes, in the house) and you are approaching us. It cracks me up!
"Esh you doing?" I think this might be our favorite. You are ALWAYS asking me what I'm doing. And I always tell you. No matter what my response (and whether you understand it), you always reply, "Oh" (in a tone that says, "Oh. Ok. Cool.") Ha!
"Sit da roo." I have no idea why you say it like this! You mean to say "Sit with you." For some reason you say it this way, and it is too funny! You either ask this when you want to come sit by one of us or when you want us to come sit by you. You pat the ground where you're sitting and say, "Sit da roo."
"I'm all done." This is nothing new, it's just funny because you've started using it in a different way. When I come pick you up from the nursery or see you in the halls walking with your class, you say this and run toward me. You also say this when I get you out of bed after your nap. I open the door and look in your room to hear you say, "I'm all done."
"Where ____________ (insert family member or friend's name here ) doh?" You are always asking me "Where KK doh?" and "Where Latham doh? Where Jaime doh? Where Nick doh?"
"Un doh church." You love to go to church and play with your friends. It's a good thing, too, because we practically live there!
You say so many other fun things; I wish I could write them all down. I'm sure some of these will be different even next week. You say so many new things each day. We are having so much fun watching you grow.
I took you to your 2 year well visit on May 26th. You had a blast in Dr. Knapick's office exploring everything. You kept asking to see the "A" on the outside of the door to our room. (You love to spot--and write!--letters.) You were in the 49th percentile for your weight and the 29th percentile for your height. I predict a growth spurt soon! It could go either way, though. You sure look like your Daddy, but you could've gotten the Shoumaker height genes! Since I'm barely 5'2 and your Daddy is 6'2, it could go either way. One thing is for sure: your personality is huge! You are full of so much life, it's contagious. You have started to make the most hilarious facial expressions.
Our days are never boring with you, silly little man. We love you to pieces.
