First Day of School 2010

I can't believe this is Jackson's THIRD year in Mother's Day Out! Three first days of "school", and this was his cutest one yet! Is he scrumptious or what? He was so cute I could hardly stand it. Of course, we couldn't get him to turn around and show us his fire truck back pack, but it is cool stuff, let me tell you.

What a fun little morning we had as a family yesterday. Kyle told me last week that he wanted to come with me to drop Jacks off for his first day, and that thrilled me to no end. I didn't even have to ask, and if you know me, you know I LOVE the first day of school.

We got everything all lined out for Jacks on Monday night so that Tuesday morning would be a breeze. As the year goes on, it will get more hectic and more hectic each week, I'm sure, but this time we wanted to get it right. ;) We headed to McDonald's at the front of our neighborhood and had a special breakfast with our little man. Fed him chocolate milk and pancakes and sent him off to the care of someone else--ha! I will admit that I have been taking Jackson to breakfast on the first day of school since he was 3 months old and went for the first time. Yes, I did that. Ha! And on the last day of "school" I cried...yep. Crazy! I like to call it "Passionate."

When we got to school, Jacks saw three of his little friends, SaraBeth, Addie and Bennett. Bennett wasn't really interested in taking pictures, but my friend Amy got this shot of the little buddies.

Jacks went right into his class and never even told me goodbye, that little mess! He ran straight to some fun toys and had a wonderful day. I am so impressed with his teachers, Mrs. Kelly & Ms. Ali, and I know he's going to have such a wonderful year and learn so many new things. They run the classroom like a preschool class, and the teacher in me loves that to death! I am bursting with happiness over the special blessing of these teachers.

Jackson had a special sticker on his shirt that he got for "sharing toys" and another one for being "obedient". Of course I got a huge lump in my throat when Mrs. Kelly told me that. I'm such a proud mama! (I will say that he saved up his uglies for the day for me because our afternoon was not.pretty, but I'm thankful he got such a glowing report at school.)

I look forward to posting more about Jackson's experiences in "school" this year. Please pray for him as learns and grows with his peers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I know that God has such special plans for him (and every child) and this is all part of it.

:)
