Adios 25!

I can't believe I'm not 25 anymore! Not that 26 is old, but now I'm one step closer to 30...which is also not "old", but monumental I guess. ;) Anyway, I'm loving the "mid-to-late twenties" life, if that's what it's called. I find myself more into "the little things" than ever before. I don't know if it's because now I'm a "mama", or if I've just become more aware of how precious life is and how important it is to make each moment count. Anyway, I've NEVER been much of a birthday person. I just mean that I'm content with whatever happens on my birthday. Well, THIS year I was really excited about celebrating my birthday for some strange reason, and I somehow managed to stretch it out all weekend since it was on a Friday. Haha. This post is really more about a fun weekend than it is my birthday, but I had to come up with a title, and then of course I had to explain it. Anyway, here are some fun pics from that weekend (3/6 - 3/8)

On Friday, we went to the zoo with Playgroup.
Here's Jackson all ready to go! Yes, his shirt has zoo animals on it. I really never saw myself becoming one of THOSE moms who plans stuff like that, but what can I say? I guess I am!

This is what friends are for...

Latham was also there to spray water on J's legs when he was hot! =)

I really didn't do that great of a job taking pictures at the zoo. Here's Jackson with the lions in the background. He was not really too cool with getting back in the stroller after being taken out, so I kept him in a lot of the time!

We went to LUPE that night with some good friends of a family friend who also happen to be our friends! They were so sweet to meet up with us the first weekend we were here, and this was the first time we've gotten together since then. Something wonderful about it being my birthday was I didn't have to BEG for Mexican food! I usually have to cry, stomp my feet, throw an all out tantrum before he gives in. I'm kidding (kind of.)

This is how my birthday ended (around 9 PM, lol.) They totally flaked out on me!

The next morning we all slept late and after some convincing, Kyle agreed that it would be fun to take J to the Livestock Show & Rodeo. We just did the LS this year, but can't wait for the Rodeo next year. I told Kyle all I wanted for my birthday was to see Jackson have fun at the Livestock Show. That was the truth. I LOVE making him smile, and he LOVES animals. Kyle was so glad that I convinced him to go because he was very impressed. Here are some pics from the day.

Even though J was not quite enough to do everything in the "Fun on the Farm" exhibit, he had a great time wearing his apron, planting and cultivating a seed, picking a peach, petting lamb's wool, milking a cow, watching his friend ride a tractor to bring goods to the farmer's market to sell, and then getting to buy something with the money he made at the market. We chose apple juice, and I think Kyle and I fought over it and ended up sharing it. Haha.

Maybe next year you'll be taller than two hens and can ride the tractor! Better eat your fruits and veggies!

Of course I had to try, too. J thought this was funny. I guess it is. Haha.

He wasn't so sure about this at first.

Not so sure what those hens are doing.

Looking at his "seed".

Feeding the chickens and getting an egg to sell at the Farmer's Market.

The wind felt good. Kyleigh had a good time, too.

He absolutely loved the pig races. He was clapping and laughing, I think because of all the excitement around us. There was no LSU pig, so we went for A&M. ;)

Allen, Paula, & Kyleigh

Loving the animals.

We wore our little cowboy OUT!

That afternoon we went up to the softball field for more fun crawling on the hill. I had to post these pictures because I just feel like my little man is looking more and more like a little boy and less and less like a baby.

And these are just lagniappe...one of my favorite things to see J do lately. He loves to stand and look out the front window.

Here he is again, but this time wondering why Dad is standing outside. Haha. Kyle was on the phone, and Jackson was standing there jumping up and down.

Watching "The Backyardigans!"

That's it for now. We've been on the go a lot lately, so I haven't had time to post much. When we get done with our "Tour de Louisianne", I'll post some pics from our trips! ;)

Love y'all!

PS - Spring is ALMOST here!

So glad you explained that 30 is not old :)
And I think the reason you have to plan out what he wears (I do too) is because we have boys and that is about the only fun we get in dressing them. Ha!
