When does it end?????

I'm talking about the thrashing about during diaper changes. SO ANNOYING!!! I try to keep my cool, but I just don't get it. Jackson is STRONG and STRONG WILLED, and the usual tricks of giving him a toy to play with, talking to him, etc. DO NOT WORK!!!!!!! I need some sort of baby vise grip to keep that guy in place. Seriously, THE MOST stressful thing yet. Any tips from moms who've had the same problem???? The usual tricks don't work, I promise!!!! Getting dressed has become something I DREAD, and I used to LOVE that time! I know that I'm being a wimp because it probably makes up about 20 minutes of my day total, but it's just something that could be SO much faster!!!!

Oh, and then...as SOON as we're done, like the second I'm done, he goes back to being the happiest baby in the world. What?????!!!!!

The other stressful thing right now is not being able to let him roam the house freely. My house is so open that I would have to have 3 big long gates just to block off the living room. I'm thinking about making the upstairs bonus room our play room and spending play time up there. At least it's almost summer and we can spend our days at the pool! Come on summer!!!

I'm not trying to be a Negative Nelly, so let me leave you with something postively amazing. Lol. Jackson and I had the most wonderful date this morning. We went to McDonald's and got an Egg McMuffin and a Sugar Free Vanilla Latte with Nonfat Milk (that was for me), brought it back to the house, and sat at the table eating together and listening to country music videos. I kept telling him, "We're on a DATE, buddy!" We split the Egg Mcmuffin, by the way. He ate the entire other half. Lol. And then a whole jar of pears. And an 8 oz. bottle. Geez. Anyway, it was lovely. All except for the fact that I had to change his diaper afterward. ;) Oh, and with the coupon I had for a free McCafe drink with the purchase of a sandwich, the total cost was a wopping $2.15. Thank you very much.

Anyway, so there you have it. The BAD and the GOOD from today. ;)

I was thinking the same thing just tonight!
I would love to talk to you about this in person sometime soon...I am not sure what to do but am considering some options which might be too shocking to put here :)

I went through the same thing with Sarabeth. They eventually grow out of it but I did consider trying pull up diapers so I didn't have to lay her down to change her as much (except for #2):) That may be an option or you can try just changing him standing up. You will get really good at it after about 2 days!

I do "wheels on the bus", "this little light of mine" and "if your happy and you know it" with Julianne. It keeps her distracted and gives her motions to do with her hands. I know Jackson is still a little young, but if you start now - when he REALLY has a mind of his own and the strength to back it up - it will (hopefully) work. Good Luck!!!
