I Bleed Purple, Gold, and Navy

I know, Tiger Fans, that sounds like blasphemy. In most cases, it would be. I believe this is the one and only scenario in which it is OK to cheer for someone besides the Tigers. It doesn't even sound right coming out of my mouth, but that's how it is. I am not afraid to say I'm rooting on Kyle's cousin (who I like to claim as my own) and the Rice Owls this weekend...and I'm taking a lot of flack for it. I've been receiving messages like the following one all week:

And another piece of friendly advice - if you two show up in those generic "cola" looking colors this weekend - take what you get and smile. There ain't no explaining the reasoning behind it, you just understand that you're walking into enemy territory and you are gonna get reamed all weekend (well, the first two days, that's all we'll need). This is a turning point in our relationship.

All I can say is, "Blood is thicker than water." Oh, yeah, and "GO OWLS!!!!!"

Am I scared to be a "visitor" in Alex Box? Heck, yes! But who of you wants to have a handful of Italians mad at you? I'll leave it at that.

GO OWLS!!! Here are some pics from some of the recent games we've been to.

This was a really hot Sunday game...but so fun!

Our little man loves to watch the games.

Ryan Lewis, #16

This is what they do after every game during their alma mater.

J-man and Ryan

Rice's campus

Have you ever been to a game in Reckling Park? I love how the skyline of The Medical Center is in the background. It's beautiful when the sun is setting.

The Lewis family was in town last weekend, and we had such a great time with them!

Just watching the game.

Nick and Noah before the game Monday night

Kyle, Maw & Paw, and Aunt Rhonda. As you can tell, Kyle was not happy that I was taking a picture because I was causing a scene. Sorry, Kyle! Just wait 'til it's our baby boy's games...you ain't seen nothin' yet.

The Owls had Kansas State under control, so J drifted off to sleep.

And this is random, but when we came home from vacation, this flag was in our yard, and there was one in every yard in the community. It was such a beautiful thing to see. The flags were left by the Klein Oak High School Music Department in honor of Memorial Day. I thought it was so neat.

Well, that's all I have for today. J is STILL sleeping, so I'm off to get some stuff done. I have to say, this late sleeping thing isn't the worst problem we could have. :) I plan on having a fun day with him if he ever wakes up: cleaning/packing (OK not fun, but necessary), going to the gym to workout, going to the Market Street Fountains, more cleaning and packing, and getting supper ready for Daddy. Oh, and we have to pick up dry clean because I've been a horrible slacker wife and haven't picked it up like 5 days in a row. My son's sleeping has really thrown us off!

Anyway, have a great day everyone. I'm sure y'all are ready for J to start waking up earlier again so you don't get these long posts from me every morning. Haha.

LINDZ,

THIS IS A SAD, SAD SITUATION. THERE AIN'T NO WAY THAT YOU CAN JUSTIFY WHAT YOU'RE DOING, SO DON'T EVEN TRY.

YOU NEED TO STOP AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS COULD DO TO JACKSON. HE'S GOING TO BE SOOOO CONFUSED. POOR LITTLE GUY. HE'S GOING START THINKING, ..."RIGHT IS WRONG, AND WRONG IS RIGHT. COULD HAVE DIRE CONSEQUENCES. YEARS OF COUNSELING.

CAN'T MAKE ANY GUARANTEES ON WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO THE TIRES ON YOUR CAR WHILE YOU'RE IN TOWN. TAKE MY ADVICE, BRING A SPARE!

LATER, MY FORMER FAVORITE OLDEST DAUGHTER,
YOUR FATHER

Your dad is too funny! I love the "bring a spare" but then again probably wise advice b/c I've heard about LSU fans and how they taunt their competition. :) Fun post! I laughed when I saw Kyle's face in that picture.

Haha, Lindsay, I love reading your blogs! You crack me up and Jackson just melts my heart!

I would just like to go on record as saying that this picture/blog does not tell the true story behind why my face was looking like that. The author of this blog failed to mention the fact that we had just sat down after a 5 minute ordeal regarding who would sit where and for how long. A sensitive photographer would have taken this information into consideration when choosing the setting he or SHE would use.

Thank you,
K-Sil

Everyone else in the picture looks happy...seems like it was a personal problem, "K-Sil!" ;)
