After much consideration and lots of hesitation, I decided to take Jacks to the pediatrician this AM. I hesitated because the last time I was in, they told me to stay home even if he had flu-like symptoms to save appointment times for the most severe cases. Jacks has been fighting allergies for the last couple weeks, and I finally decided I better bring him in since we are flying soon. I was able to get a 7:20 AM appt. this morning...SWEET...we were the ONLY people in there. Yay for not having to breathe the same air as "sick" people. Ha!
Anyway, the Dr. (not his regular pedi.) looked in his ears and said..."Glad you came...ear infection. Whoops, in both ears." I immediately said, "Thank God!" Ha! I was so happy that he already had an ear infection and they could give us the pink stuff (AKA antibiotics) because I KNEW that if he didn't have an ear infection today, he'd have one after that plane ride.
Of course Jacks is bright-eyed and bushy tailed today and not fussy like yesterday. Hopefully the meds will kick in and he will not have any pain on the flight. We are going to do all the tricks...Tylenol, sippy cup of juice, wet paper towels in a styrofoam cup...you name it...we are going to do it to make sure his ears don't hurt. Yes, there's a chance we are going to be "those people" with the crying baby on take-off/landing, but I have already decided that I don't care. We are so excited about this trip with our little man. The cute thing is he started saying "plane" this week. Well, he says "pee", but we know what he means when he says it and points at the sky. (Lots of planes fly over our house all day long...big and small.)

Haha, it's cute how their words sometimes don't sound anything like the real thing, but we know what they mean! Evan says, "Hane" for plane, and "Mamu" for our dog Miles...go figure! Have fun on your trip!
Yeah! Is this J's first flight?
Isn't it also a relief when there is an explanation for any fussiness? :)
